The Narrow Leaved Hop Bush is a useful low-level cover in windbreaks, due to its multi-stemmed growth. It also provides a useful understorey in recharge planting and in land rehabilitation such as stabilising sand due to shallow spreading roots.

It provides excellent habitat and is a good pollen source for moths, butterflies and other insects including colourful beetles. The foliage provides good refuge for small birds and fruits and seeds are forage for native birds. Kangaroos and wallabies also browse the foliage.
